Examining Gender and Migration through North African / Maghribi Film will take place on June 6, 2024, at LaGuardia Community College. The workshop aims to provide community college faculty with insights into North African culture and history through Amazigh film, emphasizing themes like indigeneity, women’s knowledge, migration, and cinematic expression. Participants will engage in discussions, group work, and brainstorming sessions to integrate these themes with their curricular goals. The workshop includes preparatory materials, a thematic bibliography, and a teaching module draft, with follow-up online support. Participants will receive a $150 stipend for their participation.
